Subject: Internship Opportunity in Olympia for Your Students

Professor Fields,

The Washington State Legislative Intern Program is currently accepting applications for the 2016 Legislative Session (January – March 2016). We are including a link to our new Internship video. It gives a great explanation of the program and features several interns from the 2015 Legislative Session. We encourage you to share the video with your students, forward to other faculty, and post on your websites. We purposely kept it at four minutes so that it can easily be shown at the beginning or end of class.

The Washington State Legislative Intern Program is a great opportunity for undergraduate juniors and seniors from all majors to learn the legislative process while gaining professional work experience. Interns are placed in offices with similar interests. Several interns per year are assigned to the Republican and Democrat caucus communication departments where they assist in the writing of floor speeches, op-ed pieces, talking points, and newsletters. This is a paid internship

Please encourage anyone interested in the program to visit our web page or contact us with their questions. They can also follow us on Twitter and Facebook

Applications for the 2016 Legislative Session are due October 16. Information on the application process is available on our website

Thank you for your help in promoting this opportunity to your students
